Swoop Privacy Policy

Summary

Swoop is an online card game. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. To let you play with other people, the game sends what it needs to our game server: the name you choose, your moves, and any chat messages you send.

What you share when you play

• Your player name. The name you type is shown to other players at your table, in the Lounge, and on the leaderboard and game history. Use a nickname if you prefer; you don’t need to use your real name.
• Chat. Messages you send at a table or in the Lounge are shown to the other players there. Chat is kept only in the server’s memory (the last few hundred lines) and is cleared when a room closes or the server restarts.
• Your games. When a game ends, the server records the room code, the date, and each seat’s name, score and result. These appear in the public leaderboard and history.

Information that identifies your device to the game

• Player key. The app creates a random key the first time you play and stores it on your device. It lets the game recognize your results and reconnect you to your seat. It is not tied to your hardware, your Apple Account, or any advertising identifier.
• Linked devices. If you link your devices, the server keeps a record of which player keys belong together, so your history follows you.
• App and device version. The app tells the server its version, the operating system version and the device model, to help us diagnose problems.

Server logs

Like any web service, our server keeps technical logs that can include IP addresses and request details. We use them only to run the game and prevent abuse.

Updates (Mac and Windows)

The Mac and Windows versions check flexgames.com once a day for updates. The check doesn’t send any personal information.

Deleting your data

Use Forget my record in the game history screen. It replaces your name with “Former player” in every recorded game (on all your linked devices) and deletes your device links. The scores stay, because other players were in those games. Deleting the app removes your player key and name from your device. You can also email us to ask for removal.

What we do not do

• We do not use analytics or crash-reporting services.
• We do not show advertising or use advertising identifiers.
• We do not track you across apps or websites.
• We do not sell or share data with third parties.

Children

Swoop includes open chat with other players and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
